First post!

Hey everyone,

my name is Maximilian Beeskow, I am a geoscientist and doctoral student at RWTH Aachen University but also the developer of PySILLS, a newly developed Python-based open source tool for a modern data reduction of laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) experiments. PySILLS is focused on the chemical quantification of the major, minor and trace element composition of minerals as well as of fluid and melt inclusions. In the beginning, PySILLS was developed as part of my M.Sc. thesis project, but it was further extended and improved since my thesis submission.

This blog and website will be run in addition to the also freshly created YouTube channel. Both will support PySILLS, which will be available on GitHub very soon, with educational content about the usage and possible applications of PySILLS.

I hope that you will enjoy working with PySILLS and that it will help you in your data analysis of LA-ICP-MS experiments.

Cheers,
Maximilian
